Ibrahim has been in prison since before the Mehsa revolution. He has been on hunger strike many times for various reasons including separating him from his son Salar in prison, and because of this continuous hunger strikes, he is in a very serious physical condition and his life is in danger. He is suffering from diabetes as well.
