PRISONERS of the CONSCIENCE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

The IJC secured the support of hundreds of parliamentarians worldwide to sponsor Iranian prisoners of conscience facing the death penalty. Furthermore, the IJC created the most accurate database of imprisoned dissidents at the time, which became a reliable resource for other organizations and media outlets.

Achievements:

• Created one of the most comprehensive databases of imprisoned dissidents, documenting the cases of nearly 5,000 individuals since the start of the uprisings in September 2022. This database, including identities and statistics, has been invaluable for raising awareness and increasing the chances of saving lives.

• Facilitated over 50 political sponsorships in Canada, with the IJC directly or indirectly involved [Jan & Feb 2023].

• Corresponded with over 350 parliamentarians and senators worldwide in three languages (English, French, and German) to provide updates on the uprisings in Iran, highlight the level of suppression, and raise awareness about impending executions.
