TOOMAJ SANCTION

On June 17th, Nazanin Afshin-Jam and Tara Dachek, members of the Iranian Justice Collective, held a press conference before a unanimous consent motion in the House of Commons. The event aimed to raise awareness about the unjust execution order issued by the Iranian judiciary against Toomaj Salehi, a young Iranian rapper. The press conference was attended by a member of the Senate and two MPs from different political backgrounds. Immediately following this press conference, a motion was introduced in the House of Commons imposing sanctions on 30 judges within the Iranian judiciary. This motion was subsequently passed.
